Answers to Frequent Questions1. What does it cost to try out?
Try out costs $70 per player if done online. It is $85 for walk ups. Those funds are to pay the expenses of the Coaches and Evaluators.
2. What does the try out encompass?
Evaluators will run through various paces to evaluate their skill levels in the the following areas:
Technical, Physical, Tactical and Mental. The rating level is 1 Good Lower Level C;ub Player to 5 National Team Caliber.
3. What happens if my child makes the pool?
If a player is asked to join the training pool, the player will be entered into the pool and begin training with a college coach for eight training sessions. Those sessions cost $200. That fee can be can be paid in a single payment or spread between payments. The payment plan includes additional carrying costs.
4. What if my child makes the team?
In April the team will be announced and the players will be entered in additional training at no additional cost. The player must also then begin making a financial commitment to the Regional Camp in June. The cost is $575 and may be paid in full or payments (carrying charges apply).
5. What does Camp Cost?
The cost is $575. This includes room and board in a college dormitory, training by Regional and National Coaches, and camp gear. The player must arrange their own transportation to Montevallo (Girls) and University of Alabama Tuscaloosa (Boys).
6. Do I have to attend both tryout sessions?
Players should attend both sessions if possible, increasing your exposure to the evaluators. Additionally, you may have a week morning effort and do better in the afternoon session.
7. Will there be another tryout?
Players that have conflicts with the first tryout should register for the tryout and then make arrangements with the MSA Technical Director of Coaching for an alternate tryout.
8. When are the Boys Camp Dates?
BOYS ODP Region Camp Dates - Univ Alabama, Tuscaloosa
Session 1: July 8 - 12, 96s, 97s and 98s
Session 2: July 13 - 17, 95s and 99s
Holdovers: July 13 - 15, 96s, 97s and 98s

8. When are the Girls Camp Dates?
University of Montevallo, Alabama
Players born in years 99 are in campJune 30- July 3
Players born in years 95-98 are in camp July 6-10
Players born in years 96-97 are in camp July 12-16
