Request Release or Transfer
REQUESTING A TRANSFER OR REC-PLUS RELEASE
FIRST - The player must have an account in the MSA GotSoccer Registration System.
THIS ACTION MAY ONLY BE COMPLETED BY A PARENT OR LEGAL GUARDIAN
No person at the League Level may complete this for the parent or Legal Guardian
Please read this carefully and be sure that you are selecting the correct action. If you are unsure about which action to choose, contact the MSA office via email at email@example.com, or 601-420-6055 before proceeding.

Choose one of the links below based on your child's needs:
For a Player Transfer - you will need to know the current organization and team your child is playing with as well as the organization and team your child is transferring to. Once a player is transferred during a seasonal year, he/she may not be moved again.
For a Rec-Plus Release - you will need to know the organization your child is currently registered with and the organization your child will be playing Rec-Plus Soccer with.
A player's first obligation is to his/her recreational team.
For a Release From Soccer Request - this is a permanent release from soccer for the seasonal year. If this form is submitted your child will not be able to participate on a team until the following season. This is typically used when there is a permanent injury to a player or a player simply does not want to play soccer any longer.

Soccer Runs for a Seasonal Year
Starting each year on September 1st, the new seasonal year starts and it end on August 31st of the following year.
Why do I have to get a transfer?
MSA member approved rules require that once a player registers with an organization the player must then transfer to another organization in order to change to a different team. A player may only transfer once during a seasonal year.
What is the difference between Release and Transfer?
A TRANSFER happens when a player has been registered with an organization during the seasonal year and now wishes to transfer to another organization.
A REC-PLUS RELEASE happens when an organization does not offer a Rec-Plus program in the player's age division. If approved, the player may then join a Rec-Plus team in another organization for the remainder of the season. The player must however, fulfill his/her commitment to the recreational team for the remainder of the season as well.
PLAYER RELEASE FROM SOCCER REQUEST - when a player does not wish to participate in soccer with any organization for the remainder of the seasonal year. This action cannot be reversed for the season..
What is the importance of tracking/recording player transfers?
State and National rules limit the number of transfers a player can have during a seasonal year. It also limits the number of transfers a single team can have during the seasonal year.
Can our request be denied?
Yes, it is possible that your request could be denied. Generally, requests are denied because a player has an outstanding financial obligation to his/her home organization; or the request has been improperly submitted. All denials may be appealed.
Why do we have to pay a fee for this player movement?
In response to member organizations requests for faster turnaround time on player movement, MSA automated the process of the Rec-Plus Player Release by placing it online and available 24/7 so that its members do not have to rely on mail or fax to complete the process. Programming and server time are paid by the actual users of the process rather than shared by the entire membership.
