2008 President’s Cup – Gulfport, MS – Post-Tournament Report

The 2008 President’s Cup was held in Gulfport. MS on May 16-18, 2008. This was the largest MSA Division II State Tournament yet! The facilities were great and the weather was spectacular! MSA thanks the host organization South Mississippi Soccer Club (SMSC), and Harrison County Parks and Recreation Department, Gulfport Department of Leisure Services for preparing the fields and facilities at Harrison County Farm Complex and Gulfport SportsPlex for this tournament. Many thanks to volunteers from South Mississippi Soccer Club, the President’s Cup Tournament Staff, Mississippi Soccer Office Staff, and everyone that worked so hard to make this event successful!

MSA commends the players, coaches, parents, family members, guests, and soccer enthusiasts who participated in or attended this tournament and made this the biggest and best Division II tournament ever with a total of 113 teams. This was an increase of 29 teams over the President's Cup last year! We saw some great exhibitions of soccer this past weekend and the players and coaches are commended on their hard work to prepare and to compete at a higher level!

2007 Region III President’s Cup in Tampa, FL

The U14 Girls Pearl United participated in the Region II President’s Cup held in Tampa, FL. The team just missed qualifying for semifinals.
