State Coaching Instructor Mentorship Program

Purpose - The state instructor mentorship program is established to expand the state instructor base and satisfy the ever-growing demand for highly qualified coaching instructors and modern coaching education.

Qualifications - The coaches entering this program needs the necessary qualifications, National Youth License and/or the USSF A & B license. (You must have the National Youth License in order to teach the State Level I, II, & III Courses, while the A & B will enable you to teach the E & D Licenses.)

Duties – State instructors will assist the State Technical Director of Coaching on state Levels I, II, & III Courses, and E & D licenses, and then lead the following course with the Technical Director assisting. The Technical Director will periodically evaluate coaches' performance, and instructor status will be granted or extra training will be given until the coach reaches the necessary standard. In order to maintain state instructor status coaches must attend state instructors training event when requested by the State Technical Director.

Compensation – State instructors will be compensated for their time, meals, and mileage when instructing any of the above courses or licenses. Compensation rates depend on coaching qualifications and course instructed.

State Instructors Training Events - The first State instructors training event will be held in January, 2008 in Jackson, MS. For immediate consideration please contact the State Technical Director of Coaching Terry Eguaoje at the MYSA office at (601) 982-5198 or email at techdirector@mississippisoccer.org for details and application form.
