2007 President’s Cup – Starkville, MS – Post-Tournament Report
The President’s Cup was held in Starkville. MS on May 12-13, 2007. It was a great weekend of soccer! Even the weather cooperated when several thunderstorms bypassed Starkville Saturday afternoon. We thank the host organization Starkville Soccer Association and Starkville Park and Recreation for preparing the fields and facilities at Starkville SportsPlex which were ideal for this tournament.
There were 84 teams in President’s Cup from U10 through U16. We commend all of the teams that participated and congratulate the winners and finalists. We thank the players, parents, and supporters of the teams as well as the referees who did a great job! A remarkable statistic was there were no red cards issued, a testament to the sportsmanship that was exhibited the entire weekend.
Many thanks to Starkville Soccer Association, the Tournament Staff, Mississippi Soccer Office Staff, and everyone that worked so hard to make this event successful!
