Competitive Soccer

Program: Competitive Soccer is the highest level of member organization competition. The program is designed to enhance player development and increase soccer knowledge through high level training and competition. The Competitive program prepares players to compete at regional and national levels of competition.

Competitive teams must meet the following requirements:

  • Competitive teams may range in age/gender divisions from 9U – 19U
  • Competitive 13U-18U team(s) may participate in the MSA Competitive Soccer League (MCSL) with the approval of their Club DOC/President. 
  • Only MSA approved Competitive teams may compete in the USYS National League conferences (NLC).
  •  To qualify for MSA Premier Cup, teams must compete in the MCSL or approved National League Conference. The only exception is the 19U age/gender division as this division is not required to prequalify for Premier Cup.
  • All Competitive teams participating in the MCSL or NLC MUST compete in the MSA Premier Cup.
    •  Exception: a waiver may be submitted to and granted by the MCSL Commission, based on the team’s performance in the MCSL, to forgo participation in the MSA Premier Cup.  The waiver must be submitted within one week of the completion of the MCSL season.
    • If granted, the team would be allowed to participate in the MSA Elite Cup
